Lost your phone and the phone book

One day, I lost my phone.

Immediate reaction, chill. As I will get a new handset and I any why have all my numbers stored online on www.pleex.com.

Next, the sky started falling. I have lost all the numbers that were added after the backup. I have lost all me SMS messages. Next, I went online to restore my numbers. It just has 150 records. My original phone book had 1700. During the last backup, there was some problem in connectivity and the website does not store old files.

Now from where do you get all these numbers. To start with, from the phones of your wife, kid, really close friends, office colleagues, emails, and internet.

Where do you start from. Clearly not from the phone. I am trying to think of all the problems I have been through in the last 10 years of my mobile usage. Re think of the naming formats. Should I start typing all the numbers on the phone. May be not. I am going to collect all the numbers at one place in email and then find applications that can access my phone book.

Will this be the last time I am going to have a problem with my phone book. May be not. But this time I am surely not going type numbers from a paper on to my mobile.

For events in Delhi, contact Turtle Events

Events are difficult. Its easy to think about them, but when it comes to planning and organizing them, they are difficult. And things changing till the last moment. A couple of things going wrong. And last moment anxiety is a rule in every event.

But with Turtle Events, anxiety before events can be a thing of the past. They have the expertise, experience and most importantly a lot of passion for events. They are on a mission of creating memorable & meaningful events for education, social and corporate occasions.

When we plan events, its mainly meeting and eating. But Turtle Events promises innovation, recreation, entertainment and fun. The guests go back impressed by the host. They are based in Delhi, so the other cities will have to wait for them to either open branches, or franchisees.

Keep up the good work, Turtles.

sports and games

We all love games and we all have played games. Each one loves a different game. Some like Table tennis, others like badminton while still others like F1. But our media, TV, news papers, magazines and internet only like Cricket. They might have excuses like the country loves cricket, advertisers love cricket.

I personally love Golf and have been searching for a site that gives me regular updates from the international golf tournaments. "Sports keeda" does just that. People who write for Sports keeda are called keedas. And there are lots of them around. I will soon become a golf keeda. They have large sections for football, athletics, basketball and almost every sport played on earth. I was surprised to see quiz on the site. Is it a game. Do people win Olympic golds for it?

My own career

I have been really fortunate to have been into reading since I was in 9th grade and has a long list of successful people in my family. Plus I lived in Mumbai, and had friends and their parents who gave be invaluable advice on my career path. This has made a huge difference in my life.

When I stumbled upon "Mera Career Guide" and found the same advice that I had got when I was on a cross road after my 12th Standard and again after my BSc. Plus it comes from so many people who are far more experienced, come from very different industries and interests.

I strongly recommend this site for any person who is looking for advice on his career. It can be about taking up a job, following you heart, negotiating a promotion or salary with your existing company or even selecting a city to settle down.

Keep up the good work, Mera Career Guide.
